Happy finals week everyone! Good luck to all on your final tests, presentations, and papers. Due to our recent poll on Instagram, we will be writing about some dining hacks and tips. Thank you to our Instagram followers for the feedback. Hope these tips come in handy for the remainder of this week and next year when ordering food on campus.
Ordering food on Friday
I have noticed that the wait time on the Tapingo app is a lot shorter on Friday’s. When I have been on campus, the wait time for food is quick and there aren’t many students around on this day. I think this is because the majority of students take classes from Monday to Thursday. Going to the MarketPlace on Friday you are able to avoid the crowd. If you are looking to order food on campus with a very short wait time, Friday is the best time to go.
Sono = Long Wait Time
During the week, Sono is typically the vendor with the longest wait time. This wait time is typically 20-30 minutes, but it can be even longer. This is understandable due to the quality food offered at this vendor. I personally like the burritos at Sono. Since this vendor a popular one, it can cause a backup in orders which leaves you waiting for your food longer. If you want to order from Sono it is best to do it in advance or you will be waiting around in the MarketPlace longer than expected.
Bowl Life = Short Wait Time
Bowl Life is notorious for having an extremely short wait time. The wait time is typically 5 minutes or less. This is crazy to me because I really like the food options offered at Bowl Life. My last order at Bowl Life, I got the quinoa bowl with steamed carrots. It was delicious. Not only are their bowls tasty, but it is a healthier alternative compared to the other vendors. If you’re looking for a meal on the go, Bowl Life is definitely for you.
Check Gourmet Dining Calendar
Each month, Gourmet Dining posts a calendar of their events such as food themed days and nutrition chats. The calendar can be found on the Gourmet Dining Facebook page and on the Rowan University page. Most of these food themed days are hosted at the Holly Pointe Caf. Some of the food themed days include Late Night Breakfast, Carnival Food, and Fish Fridays. I have been to the Late Night Breakfast and it is worth the meal swipe. Looking at the calendar in advance can help you make decisions on spending your money or meal swipes on the kind of food you want to eat.
